This two-day workshop will help you make competent drawings of portraits. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this class will further your skills. Step by step demonstrations by artist/instructor Oliver Sin will help you look closely and understand structure of the face. You will draw from live model on both days and learn the techniques of mastering expressive portraiture with vine charcoal, charcoal pencils on drawing papers, and tonal papers.
Day 1 - Vine charcoal on drawing paper
Day 2 - Pastel pencils on toned paper

3 sticks each of Extra Soft Vine Charcoal, Willow Charcoal, 6mm or wider
A pad of 18 by 24 inch "Strathmore" 70 lbs Drawing Paper. Medium Surface
4B, 6B drawing pencils, white paste/charcoal pencil, Kneaded Eraser
Stabilo #645 and #100 pastel pencils
a pad of 9x12" tracing paper
two sheets of 18x24" toned gray paper, medium surface
