Character Design and Visual Storytelling - Ages 9
This class will guide students in developing memorable and engaging characters for comics, illustration, animation, and other types of visual storytelling. We will utilize traditional materials, including air-dry clay, to help bring characters to life. Drawing on real-life references and imagination, we will explore how anatomy, expressions, body language, and costuming inform a character's personality and history. We will also cover environment and learn about perspective drawings. By working with both human and non-human characters, students will explore a range of shapes, proportions, and styles.
