Recommend taking Observational Drawing Class prior to this course.
This class covers essential foundations of early steps in the drawing process. In this course we will cover:
Options for materials and tools, pros and cons of different media, and how to choose what’s right for you.
Basic drawing exercises and drills to build skills outside of creative work. (Think music theory, scales, chords, etc… but for drawing!).
Ways to set yourself up for success in your future drawing endeavors. (How to set up a workstation, things to keep in mind when choosing subjects/references, troubleshooting tactics for when things get tough).
This is a technical class with an emphasis on increasing accurate, effective 2D reproduction. We will do so by mapping out efficient ways to set up a drawing, as well as the necessary beginner knowledge of linear perspective, light/shadow, and how we can represent them 2 dimensionally.
