Welcome! We’re going to experience first hand what it’s like to create your own original character with in-depth knowledge of styles & genres of the world of manga. In this course we will execute manga drawing, inking, watercolor painting, and digital techniques. If you’re interested in a little animation, the digital course has a special easter egg for you. We will explore both classic and popular manga and how artists express themselves as individuals. Whether you’re a beginner or veteran, you’re going to come out of the course with a foundational understanding of Japanese Manga Techniques and Drawing.
Day One: Shading with pencil-Understanding Rendering & Lighting
Day Two: Intro to Inking Techniques-Get a feel of the medium
Day Three: Inking with Microns
Day Four: Inking with Brush Pen
Day Five: Ink your Original Character!
